About Ramsey Moran
Ramsey Moran is a construction company based out of Ventura County, specializing in bespoke luxury homes. Having over 30 years’ experience in the field, they felt it was imperative to modernize and elevate the branding, which in their own words "have had for far too long".
The Challenge
The founders made it known very early on that they wanted a brand that felt elevated but not antiquated, as many luxury brands all too often do. They wanted something slick, minimal and had a touch of class about it. They stressed they needed to not be like other brands out there, but be better than other brands out there, as they saw this exercise as one that would need to serve them for another 30 years all while fending off the up-and-coming younger companies in the area.

Approach
Minimal Sophistication
We took the very simple idea of using a clean modern home as our north star. We used the structural nature of a roof to our advantage, in creating an icon that is instantly recognizable as a home. To make the icon more interesting we added a slant to give the illusion the structure is perched on a hillside, by doing so it felt more in line with the luxury homes you associate with California.
We paired the icon with a beautifully ornate font as our primary, to further make the brand feel upscale. However, we felt it was necessary to reign in the luxury aesthetic, so it didn’t get too pretentious, which is why we opted for a sans-serif typeface. By doing so we also gave the brand more variety to work with.
In terms of color, we kept the palette incredibly minimal, helping the brand achieve a stark and modern feel, introducing gold as an accent to be used sparingly, against the monochromatic slate grays and marble whites, again helping the brand achieve that luxurious architectural feel.
